Tattooing

The Madison County Health Department issues permits to individual artists that offer tattoo or permanent make-up services. An Environmental Health Specialist inspects each artist in an establishment to ensure that they maintain clean facilities, practice good hand washing, and maintain accurate sterilization records for equipment.
Tattoo permits are valid for one year. Artists are required to fill out an application and pay the required fee prior to the expiration of their permit.
